The Coding & AI Journey at Dayapuram
2017–18: The Beginning of the Coding Revolution
Dayapuram Residential School initiated its coding journey by introducing Coding as an extracurricular activity for students. This early exposure helped students develop:
- Logical thinking
- Creativity and innovation
- Curiosity towards technology
The overwhelming response laid the foundation for deeper curriculum integration.
2018–19: Curriculum Integration & Expansion
Recognizing the importance of digital skills, Coding and AI were formally integrated into the regular academic curriculum from the academic year 2018–19. This marked a significant step in embedding computational thinking into everyday learning.
During this year, Dayapuram also organized the First Edition of Digital Fest, a flagship technology event that provided a platform for every student to showcase creativity, innovation, and technical skills.
Digital Fest – A Platform for Innovation
- First Edition: Launched to celebrate student creativity in coding, robotics, and digital innovation.
- Second Edition: Inaugurated by Ms. Debjani Ghosh, the President of NASSCOM, adding national recognition to the initiative.
- Third Edition: Inaugurated by Prof. Saji Gopinath, Vice-Chancellor, KeralaUniversity of Digital Science, Innovation and Technology.
- Fourth Edition: Inaugurated by Mr. Jerrish Issac Varghese, Co-founder, CTO,Edstem Technologies Pvt Ltd.
- Fifth Edition: Inaugurated by Mr.Jayesh Puthuparambil, CEO, Zerone Consulting.
- Sixth Edition: Sixth Edition Digital Fest.
- Seventh Edition: Chief Guest Dr.Suresh Kumar, Director World Health Organization Collaborating Centre.
- Eighth Edition: Inaugurated by Dr.S Mohana Priya IAS, Assistant Collector Kozhikode.
Digital Fest has since become a symbol of Dayapuram’s commitment to experiential and technology-driven learning.
