Secondary School ( I - X )



Dayapuram Residential School follows the syllabus prescribed by the Central Board of Secondary Education. It prepares the pupils for All India Secondary School Examination ( Class X) and All India Senior School Certificate Examination  (Class XII). The medium of instruction is English.

SUBJECTS  

a) Classes I & II

English, Malayalam, Mathematics, Environmental Science, General Knowledge and value education.

b) Classes III to V

English, Malayalam, Hindi, Mathematics, Environmental Science,  Computer, General Knowledge and Value Education.

c) Classes VI TO VIII

English , Malayalam, Hindi, Mathematics, Science & Social Science

d) Classes IX &  X

English, Malayalam, Mathematics, Science  and Social Science

    

WORKING DAYS

i)The School works from Monday to Friday  for Classes I to V (as per Kerala Government circular) and Monday to Saturday for Classes above V. The School timings are from 8.10am to 3.10pm with lunch interval from 12:45pm to 1.45pm.  All the pupils should reach the School by 8.05am.

ii) Holidays for the year will be notified in the Pupil's Diary. Special classes may be arranged for selected classes during holidays also. The pupils should attend such classes without fail. The School will not declare holidays on     account of  Hartal/Bandh declared  by political parties or other organisations.  

 

ADMISSION

a) Admission is open to both boys and girls irrespective of religion, community or caste, subject to availability of seats.

b) A child who seeks admission to class I should have completed the notified age as per Govt. circular, General Education Department, Kerala, from  time to time.

c) Application form and prospectus will be issued from the Administrative Office.  The cost of a set of application form and prospectus is Rs. 400/-

d) The completed application form must be submitted to the Principal along with the documents required. Admission will be granted only if both father and mother of the pupil sign the application form and are     present at the time of admission. If one of the parents is abroad or unable to come, a letter to the effect that he/she     has no objection to admit his/her ward to the School, should be produced or sent by  email to info@dayapuram.org

e) At the time of admission, all original documents including birth certificate, transfer certificate, passport size photographs (3 copies)  should be produced.

PUPIL'S DIARY

Every pupil will be supplied with a Pupil's Diary. This must be brought to the School every day. There are pages         allotted in the Diary for communications between the Teacher/Principal and the parents. It also contains information  regarding home work assigned, library books read, co-curricular activities, excursion, schedules of         evaluation/examinations, leave and late attendance. Parents of non-resident pupils are requested to peruse the diary     daily. Parents of the hostellers  may go through the diaries whenever they get the opportunity thereof.

SMART  CLASS ROOMS

To improve the academic performance and skills of the students, all our class rooms are digitised with shot throw     projectors  and laptops.   

LAB FACILITIES

There are full fledged labs at the School for Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Information Technology. A         Mathematics Lab is also established for the benefit of the pupils.

UNIFORM

Wearing of uniform is compulsory for the students on all working days.

INTERNET CENTRE

Limited Internet facility is available on campus. The pupils can avail of the facility with the permission of the Principal, against payment of the prescribed charges.

HOSTEL

i) Presently, hostel facility is available only for girls (V std. onwards). Parents should seek admission to the hostel at the beginning of the academic year itself.  The application form can be obtained from the Administrative Office.

ii) Parents are requested to obtain a copy of the rules and regulations pertaining to the hostels for their information and guidance.

iii) Candidates who are from more than 50 Km  must have a local guardian within 10 Km of the campus.

iv) A student placed under suspension from the hostel shall not enter the hostel or hostel mess or enjoy any facility he / she had enjoyed as  an inmate. During the period of suspension, student  shall bring the lunch from home as students are not  allowed to go out of the campus during working hours.

v) Hostellers have to follow the mess menu strictly. Request for change of menu will not be entertained. The present mess fee is valid for     six months. As the price of commodities increases day by day, a hike in mess fee can be expected     after six months.

DAY BOARDING

For security reasons, students are strictly banned from going out of the campus during working hours. Lunch will be  provided for the needy students by advance payment at the Administrative Office.

DISCIPLINE

i) The School attaches great importance to discipline and good behaviour of the pupils. Indiscipline in any form will be     dealt  with severely. Parents are requested to fully co-operate with the school authorities in ensuring proper         behaviour and conduct of their wards inside and outside the school.

ii) Rules & regulations of the institution are available in the Pupil's Diary.

CO-CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES

Various co-curricular activities and competitions are organized in the School with a view to develop the physical,     mental, social, cultural and spiritual  faculties of the pupils through activities like School Parliament, moral studies      variety of  Sports & Games, Arts, Painting, Music and Dance. Parents are requested to ensure that their wards attend     such programmes even if they are held inside / outside the campus, after working hours or on holidays. A part of the     expenses for such programmes may also have to be met by the parents.

NOTE :

i) The school authority has limitation in controlling private vehicles carrying students to the campus. So parents must     ensure  that their wards are safe on their journey from home to school and back.
